Women's Desk

Women's Work Furniture

This charming ladies desk, resp. Damen Arbeitsmöbel served her owner to do her writing & correspondence as well as for her favourite pastime the embroidery. She was able to carry out beautiful embroidery work on this furniture, but the sewing table furnishings in the drawer were equipped with many small compartments for different coloured yarns, thread rolls for different threads, needle cushions and various storage compartments.

The desk is designed with hints of the Biedermeier era, which, however, were not copied but reinterpreted.

The quality of both the design and the execution requires one of the leading manufactures of the time, such as the Vereinigte Werkstätten in Munich.

Due to its extraordinary shape as an oval with all-round design, the furniture can be freely set up in the room and thus fully develop its elegance.

The ladies' desk is completely restored & newly polished shellac.
