This architectural table from the era of Louis Seize was created by Antoni-Siomon Mansion in Paris around 1790 and is a fairly early work of this master, which was published on the 16th. August 1786 became Master in Paris.
Especially beautiful are the original strips drawn in brass, as well as the original sabots.
Also the mechanics, the lock and the key with elaborately cast Reiden is original preserved.
It impresses with its sophisticated mechanics with which you can adjust it freely and the height and inclination and thus can work back-friendly even while standing.
This type of tables were built in the 18th Century by the Geneva physician Théodore Tronchin (1709–1781) to prevent the back problems of architects who worked mainly while sitting.
In the course of the restoration, the mechanics were revised so that it works flawlessly again.
The surface was polished by hand with shellac, writing surfaces and side shelves were again re-equipped with high-quality gold-embossed goat leather.
All in all, a rare and early example of these grandiose tables that can be used without restriction.
